What does the treatment involve?

This will vary depending on the specific blemish or lesion being removed, but mostly the treatment involves the application of a mild diathermy electrical current into the affected area. The blemish will either be removed straight away or may take a few days to shrink away.

How long does the treatment take?

You will initially have a full consultation to include a medical questionnaire, and a thorough examination of the blemish to ensure that it is safe to be removed. Once this has been completed the actual treatment time will be no longer than 30 minuets, if longer is needed a second treatment will be booked.

If there is any suspicion that the blemish needs further examination, then you will be asked to see your own GP.

Any treatment for moles you will need to visit your GP first and ask for a letter.

How long will the effects last?

Most blemishes, once treated will not return. However, there is always a risk that the blemish will re-grow, or others may appear in the same area. If this is the case, repeat treatments may be required.
